Looks like something you would hook up to your furnace.

So does this mean the most popular Rickenbacker model has been identified? For me, I think that the most popular Rickenbacker is the 4001/3 bass.

I have never used a Phantas...etc.

I think it's some sort of light show/color organ projector for those 60s places where you had to be there or be cubic.

Peter, I am guessing along with you. I'll bet the 4001/4003 is the most popular Rickenbacker.

Howdy,

Among 6-string guitars I'd imagine that the 330 sells the most and among 12-strings the 360. It's possible the 4001 Bass outsells any one of these though.

4003 wins overall. 330 for guitar, no doubt about it IMO.

Anyone know if there is a big difference in sound between the 330 and 360?

I know in the late 80's early 90's, all I saw in the shops were 360's (thank you Peter Buck and Smithereens).

The 4003 is definitely the champ in sheer numbers produced with the 360 and 330 running neck and neck. If by "popular" you mean iconic than I suppose that's open to debate...
