Hey guys. This headstock doesn't look quite right to me. http://i11.ebayimg.com/01/i/04/28/c0/bb_1_b.JPG Is this really a v63, or is this a 320 that's been modded to get as close as possible to v63 specs. I thought the v63s had the vintage size/shape headstock. ??? Auction link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41439&item=7325919932&rd=1 |

Lawton - Appearently, the first run of 325V63s had the oversized headstock like this one. I've seen two or three that have had it and they dated early in the runs. I shopped for awhile for mine and passed up a couple like that - until I found one that looked right. Mine's a '97 I think. I'm not sure exactly when it was corrected. |

Thanks, Spencer. Am I being overly picky to feel like I wouldn't really want one with this headstock (especially if models with the correct headstock are out there)? If you're buying it because it's supposed to be a "Recreation of John Lennon's Guitar" (to quote the auction title) wouldn't you want it to be accurate in the major areas of comparison (like the headstock)? |
