I have recorded a short mp3 of the sound of my high gain pickup in the neck position of my 350. This sound is much improved compared to the sound of the toaster in the same position. The neck pickup is on its own tone and volume controls and is independent of the middle pickup.

Mason Williams, eh, Peter? It sounds very open and almost like an amped acoustic in the way the strings decay.

By "tone control" I assume you mean treble rolloff?

One of my favorite pieces in the same vein (contemporary classic) but a but more contemplative in nature (hence reminding me of you!) is Stanley Myers' "Cavatina". Myers is a underrated composer who scored many films in his career. "Cavatina" is from "The Deer Hunter", Michael Cimino's magnum opus. This would be a beaut to learn Peter, if you don't already have it in your repertoire.

I love these sound bites! This is going to flare up my RAS. It is probably a good thing that I am going to a graduation party today or I'd be driving to Columbus for the show. Chris Clayton of Pick of the Ricks is to be there with hopefully a good selection.

Peter: amazing tone. Liquidity, transparency and bite, all in one. A nice permutation of CCR as well.

Thanks Paul. I have tried to post sound bytes that are representative of playing lead and chords. The recordings are without the aid of effects, recognizing that everything digitalized is an effect in one way or another.

Peter, the highgain and toaster clip was very nice. It sounds like the 350 could get a cool twang/woody sound and cover a lot of 60s "Gretsch" sounds, a la , Beatles, George with the Tenny. Especially considering if you only used one 6-string.

Thanks Bill. This is a very versatile instrument and all of the pickups can sound quite different depending on what amplifier is used an its settings of course.

Also, the high gain/toaster clip used a pick and the high gain alone was finger picking without fingerpicks. It is certainly possible to get more or less edge depending on these factors.

What was it played through Peter. I really like the dual position. I wonder what this would sound like on a 3 pick-up 330/360.
I am looking for a 1997 or 360V64 at the moment, to add a third pick up to. I have had a couple of 350V63's in the past, but I much prefer the larger body. It will be interesting to hear the difference when I get one.

Tony: The 350 was played though a VOX AC30 with Celestion Blues. The three pickup sound is also very nice.
