Here's a couple of photos of my 1965 Export Model 1998...a pretty ordinary 60s headstock, but the rear of the headstock shows the original music retailer sticker from Nicholsons Music, George St, Sydney. I understand this store operated in the 60s and has long since gone. I guess this makes my Export model a certified "Aussie Issue Rickenbacker" and not an import export from the UK!

Wow, Graham, those checkerbound headstocks are absolutely stunning! What model guitars are they from? I am dreaming of a headstock like that in Blueburst! How does one go about ordering a special one like that? The FG one with the gold hardware is spectacular--the white nut tells me it must be an acoustic....

Melissa - the mapleglo is a model 6006 banjoline from 1968 and the fireglo is the 760J - which I sadly don't own. And I wish I knew how to order checkered headstocks. I would love to have them on all of my Ricks. It just looks fantastic! Perhaps JH could offer it as an option - I know I'd pay extra.
