A 1978 Rickenbacker 4001 bass guitar serial number RD 1954, sunburst finish, doublecutaway body and neck with maple and shedua laminates, headstock with Rickenbacker on truss cover, 20 fret bound rosewood fingerboard with triangular inlays, two pickups, selector switch and four controls, tailpiece with mute and chrome pickguard, signed by Bruce Foxton in black felt pen; with hardshell case; accompanied by an autograph letter, signed, from Bruce Foxton stating that this guitar was ..used at the Townhouse Recording Studios in the following sessions: News of the World, David Watts, Eton Rifles. The infamous long sustain (sic) notes on 'Eton Rifles' were in deed plucked on this guitar. Take good care of it. Cheers, Bruce Foxton, 1p. (2)
