Here is a fantastic Vintage 1967 Rickenbacker 330/12 in Fireglo finish, Made in USA. The back of the body has a piece of gorgeous figured maple. This guitar has had Gibson pickups installed some time ago, think of this as a vintage hybrid guitar if you will. They sound remarkably well. This 360/12 retains the Rickenbacker Chime and with the added bonus of a noise free fat tone from the Vintage Gibson Humbuckers. They Clean up nicely when rolling back on the volume for a classic Rickenbacker Jangle tone. When cranked up through thick distortion, this guitar creates an amazing mystifying soundscape.
The neck is the best on any Rickenbacker I have ever played. This one really plays well, just fits nicely in your hand. When I was testing this guitar out, I didn’t want to put it down. It resonates really well. This guitar also plays great as a 6 string if you change the strings out. The finish is worn a bit on the thumb side of the neck. There is the usual clear coat finish chipping around the frets. The neck is straight and the original frets have a lot of life left.
The Gibson pickups are Stamped Pat Number humbuckers from a 1975 Gibson Les Paul Custom. There is an ink stamp on the pickups, marked "Williamsville". In 1975 Norlin bought the Moog plant in Williamsville, and only during the first year some of the pickups were ink stamped Williamsville, making them quite rare and historical.
There is some normal light marks in the finish, and finish checking on the arm rest area and the back middle. There are finish marks by the jack. Mostly everything is original on this guitar, except the pickups and routing. All tuners and screws are original and they work well. Truss rod works well and the neck is straight. The Top pickguard has been routed to accommodate the bigger pickups.
