"Born in September 1978.. this left-handed (right-handed headstock, like McCartney's) Maple-Glo 4001 was 'Mystery Tour-ed' by me. I decided to paint directly over the original finish, with no sanding whatsoever, in case I ever wanted to return it to it's original condition. (a mild 'wet-sand' would return it to it's original condition rather quickly) therefore, there is no 'clear-coat' on the MMT paint. Bass is in AWESOME shape, and has been set up and maintained by only pros. I've used this bass many times in Beatles shows, and always used Thomastik flats (low tension) on it. The action and playability of this bass is AWESOME!
