Minor and the only Mods to Instrument:
• Rick O Sound jack hole slightly enlarged to accept a Mini XLR plug. Rick O Sound on this bass gives you three separate pickup outputs. Still can change back to a ¼" jack and the washer covers the slight gap.
• Little drill circles 1/8" inch deep because the Bartolini neck pickup has these lugs on the bottom. Rick used to do this on customs, I have seen them, so I copied their technique and sealed the spots with acrylic lacquer.
• 4 holes for the new tuners, but the original tuners would cover these. The old holes were lightly filled with maple wood dough to keep moisture out.. Old tuners could go right back on.
• I made the electronics closer to to the early two knob (Vol/Tone) Ricks but added a third micro volume knob for the bridge pickup. I saw the small knob on some old Rick guitars and thought it would fit the style and would look good on the 4001.
• The added weight from the bridge and bezel plus the reduced weight of the Hip shot tuners really reduced the neck heaviness.
~ One of kind Treble pickup bezel with no gaps!!
~ One of kind custom Hipshot bridge with third pickup option!!
