Bass has undergone a recent restoration and retains many of its original parts and features including the rare gap-tooth tailpiece, bridge pickup plate, serialized jack plate, knobs, and reverse-painted plexiglas truss cover.
Bass has the majority of its original JetGlo lacquer, showing plenty of patina and some minor edgewear consistent with years of playing. Some overspray was present on back of body near an area of light buckle rash. Body face was refinished recently after routes from previous pickup modifications were filled with rock maple plugs. The bridge pickup is a 1970s Rickenbacker and sits within its original placement. Neck pickup is a new Rickenbacker Toaster and also sits in the correct position for a 1968. Pickguardian produced a nice repro pickguard and tug bar based on the original holes/witness lines. A vintage-correct spec wiring harness was assembled including uber-rare Ajax molded blue capacitors, CTS pots, and an original 1960s Switchcraft pickup selector switch. Electronics work perfectly and retain the functionality of the instrument’s original mono design. Tuners were changed to standard Schaller many moons ago and exhibit some minor oxidation.
