Have since learned that the guitar has a stereo output jack, which now makes it more likely to have been a 625 originally, that at some point has lost its body binding.
I suspect that this was originally a 615, as the guitar clearly has no binding.
At some point along the way it was refinished in black with an unoriginal fretboard. The serial number puts it in a sequence with a pile of 625 guitars made the same month.
