Welcome to the Penny Lane Guestbook. In a "Roundabout" way you will add to the growing body of Rickenbacker information by taking the time to share your thoughts. Sorry, I must go now and "shave another customer."

Comments: I've played Fenders all my life. But somewhere in the back of my mind the word 'Rickenbacker' was carved. Then a few days ago, an ad in a small newspaper. Rickenbacker 4001 for sale! Good deal! It's mine now. Straight on the internet.....and there was you with all the information I needed. Great site. Thanks! |

Comments: Guys- I've looked around the Internet before for Rick stuff, but your site is by far the best, and the most obsessive. You should clearly seek professional help. Extra points are due for the Penny Lane guestbook. It's got the kind of whimsical connectivity that appeals to me. I've been buying and collecting Rickenbacker guitars since 1979, so I guess that explains why I own so many (I'll need to count them but I think I've got ten or twelve). In the seventies, when I went looking for my first one, they were very difficult to find. Now they're back in fashion, but for a time Rick dealers only handled the basses. My first Rick was a '64 325 FG, but most of the hardware was changed out and the finish stripped and covered with clear so that looked MG. I took it apart for the pieces (as the body was badly cracked). I later smashed it ala Pete Townshend on a wall just to hear it explode. It sounded great! When I get a few moments, I'll get my guitars added to the registry. Congrats on a nice site. |

Comments: Hi You need to add Greg Kihn to your artists list. He almost always played a 360/12 Mapleglow in the studio and on stage when I saw him in the 70's/80's. The guitar is is prominately pictured on the back of his third album "Next of Kihn" as he waits to take the stage Thanks Tom |

Comments: I've been playing this lovely bass for over eight years now and every day I find a new sound or a new way of getting the best out of it. It is a forgiving and hardworking instrument: no matter how I play it, the sound is there. In short: I am in love! Thanks to Peter Hook for getting me "hooked" :) on this bass. And now I will have to go and find a tissue or something 'cos it seems I've been drooling over the keyboard whilst looking at the lovely pics of Rickenbacker basses. Deary, deary me... |

Comments: I love my Ric. This is actually my second Rickenbacker. The first one I owned was a 1986 320 but it was stolen. Good thing I had replacement insurance. I ended with a John Lennon Ltd. Edition 355JL because this was the only Ric available in the city as a replacement. But, you never forget your first love and that was the 320, man I'm still mad that it was stolen and that was 8 years ago. Greetings from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. |

'88 "370" WB Fireglow (custom) '92 330/12 Trans Purple (custom) '71 Electro Lap steel (burgandy) |
Comments: Let's face it, Rics' are the greatest! I use mine constantly. The "370" was a 360 and is now the most versitile instrument I have ever played. It can accieve any sound with its 3 Ric HB coil-fade wiring. It was customized by Dan Altilio. The 330/12 is a crazy trans purple that screamed BUY ME! so I did, and got a great lead sound! I don't know much about the Lap Steel but I've heard that 71 is the last year sold. I play lead guitar in a couple of bands somewhat like a melange of King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa and Thelonius Monk (pretty darn wierd). I will send Pictures of my beloved Ricks! Oh, I play 2 guitars at the same time and am constantly searching for a Rick 362/12 twin-neck. |

Comments: hi just thought i'd sign into your registry with a rickenbacker i've got. its a 330/12 and according to production figures i've seen on other pages and serial number charts it was made in Feb 1965 and its serial is EB154. According to the production charts I saw on one website, it was one of only 22 made in 1965 but i find this hard to believe. Anyway, i'm in Perth Western Australia. cheers Rick Mason |

Comments: Hey Peter! The Guestbook is a nice addition to the web page. And to echo John Williams' comments, thanks for this site as well as alt.guitar.rickenbacker. The entire RIC community has benefited much from your efforts. Maybe a Peter McCormack Signature Model would serve as a just reward. Good luck with mastering the 213! CHORDially, Andrew S. Comments: I have a 1991 330 blond. I had to travel all the way from South Africa to England to buy it because the so called agent (Pretoria Organ Center) Could not produce the goods. Rickenbackers are very rare here in deepest, darkest Africa. Almost without fail somebody comes up to me at gigs and admires or makes me an offer. FORGET IT..... |
