Johnny Marr used Rickenbackers often in The
Smiths' early days. "My 330 is my old faithful," he
said, "and I've got a 360 as well, the Roger
McGuinn one. They're a really big part of my sound;
the 330's got so much power to it, and a really thick
bottom end as well as the jangly sound. I ought to
get away from them, because when you stick your
left hand round a Rickenbacker neck, you tend to
play in a certain way - well, I do!"
