On page 200 of the History of Rickenbacker
Guitars by Richard Smith the text reads "the early export twelve strings had a flat tailpiece and the later 1965 ones had the more stylish R tailpiece-". I do not consider, however, that this guitar modified. I bought it this way in 1978 for aproximately $250 US.
The Model 1993 12 string is also, according to the Rickenbacker book, 1 of 25 made for Rose Morris in England and knowing the way Pete Townshend treated his Rickenbackers this one must be VERY RARE. Maybe it should be on the "Rarities" page on your site.
This guitar was autographed by Mike Pender of the Searchers in the mid 1990's when the group performed
in Stockholm, Sweden. One of Mike Pender's autographs written for Ken is captured in the image below.
