"When the 365 came in to the shop it had an additional middle pickup added
(and routed), and the fingerboard had been reradiused and refretted by a hack
repairman. I took off all the original parts that were left on it and put all
new parts on. The bridge pickup is a NEW Rick humbucker, and I added a coil
tap to give me a single coil option as well. The neck pickup is a foreign
made Rick copy that is not hooked up, it's just there for looks. I also have
a momentary kill switch for "stuttering" effects, one volume control but no
tone controls. Both guitars have Accent vibrato's, but I don't use them so I
took off the arms.
All the same mods have been done to my backup guitar a 1967 335. When the 335
came in to the shop someone had routed it for a neck humbucker (Gibson) and
had it set up left handed with the top pickguard on the opposite side.
Most of the stickers on both of the guitar's bodies are covering up the holes
previous owners put in them.
Both guitars play and sound pretty much the same, and I like the look of the
335 a little better (because of Weller & Townsend) but I use the 365 as my
main guitar because the rounded top is more comfortable to play. " |
