Chris Curtis, after being away from the stage for decades, has appeared recently with the Merseycats at the Marconi Club on Roby Road. The Merseycats have been hoasting a Jam Night on Thursday evenings with many well known Liverpool musicians in appearance.

Curtis is still very particular about the manner in which he performs. His perfectionistic style and need to get the arrangement just right is as prevalent today as it was in the early 1960s when he performed with The Searchers. Word has it, that he has "performed some surprising numbers on April 17, 2003 including "Hound Dog", "Are You Lonesome Tonight", "Matchbox" and "Needles and Pins."

Coincidentally, there is a Searchers' connection associated with his 2003 comeback. Mike Prendergast, cousin to Mike Pender, has kindly given Chris transportation each week for which fans are truly grateful.
