Recent auction results

Post by chuck_king »

Hi, everybody. For a while now I have been shopping for a Ric, and as part of that I have been monitoring eBay auctions of the models I was interested in. I recently made a deal on a nice 360 so I am not going to be watching the Ric market as closely anymore, but I thought people here might find the data I accumulated over recent weeks interesting.

I was looking for a six-string and didn't really care about vintage. I focused my search on 360, 330, and 620 models, although I took note of other less-common models of interest too. I ignored "auctions" that were pretty clearly dealers or psuedo-dealers asking retail prices. Aside from those, while I can't swear this is every Ric in those categories that's been listed on eBay recently, it's definitely most of them. All the auctions I noted included OHSC, and all ended in apparent sales except where noted. Anyway, here's what I observed:

Model, Date, Price, Shipping, Notes

330 6/24 909.00 65.00 Jetglo
330 6/25 975.03 28.69 Fireglo
330 6/28 999.00 45.00 Jetglo NO BIDS
330 7/1 1,175.00 50.00 Fireglo, unused since new
330 7/2 950.00 25.09 Jetglo, some minor flaws, NO BIDS
330 7/4 1,190.00 32.78 Fireglo

340 7/4 1,125.00 65.00 Jetglo, factory trem, listed as 330

360 6/19 1,225.00 45.00 Jetglo, with Rick-o-sound box
360 6/20 1,140.33 actual Turquoise
360 6/22 1,011.00 30.00 Jetglo, some visible wear
360 6/22 1,126.00 50.00 Mapleglo, case candy
360 6/22 1,205.00 65.00 Fireglo
360 6/25 902.00 actual Fireglo
360 6/26 825.00 60.00 Fireglo, finish issues, NO BIDS
360 6/27 1,155.00 50.00 Jetglo, case candy
360 6/29 938.00 60.00 Fireglo, finish issues, relisting of 6/26
360 6/30 1038.00 55.00 Midnight blue
360 7/1 800.00 50.00 Fireglo, NO BIDS, would not take PayPal
360 7/1 1,180.00 45.00 Mapleglo

381V69 6/20 2,849.99 ? Fireglo

610 6/20 910.00 65.00 Jetglo

620 5/12 911.00 45.00 Fireglo
620 6/21 950.00 ? Fireglo, NO BIDS

650A 6/20 1,125.00 30.00 Turquoise
650D 6/27 760.00 ?

I didn't win any of these auctions, but I did find a 360 for sale on another forum and (knock on wood) next week I'll be playing my own Ric again for the first time in too long! (I had a 360 for a while in the 90s but sold it during a fit of poverty, and I've been wanting another one for a long time.) Thanks to this research I'm comfortable that I got a good price on it.

Thanks for the data, Chuck, and welcome!!!

Interesting, though not too surprising, that all of these models are selling in a fairly narrow price range, depending upon the usual factors such as condition and color, and independent of model, although you don't mention age.

Sole exception is of course the 381V69; an atypically high price was paid for that one!

Nice work Chuck and welcome!
