Jeez... It's obviously been ages since anyone posted on this topic. But it's now 2010 and I'm from Sinny!
I found this in my enduring search for Australian Rickenbacker 'content'. And I hope that some you drop out of the woodwork and post some updates to your status. I have a fantastic RIC-360 which I secured from 'out-of-state', which cuts the ether ...like a 'vina on steroids'.
Collectively with my Fender, Marshall and VOX amps... maybe I'll wake-up somebody in your neighbourhood soon?
Best wishes,
:-R

Welcome, Richard. Nice to have another northern member.
Simply strengthens my thoughts about us Melbournites making another foray into Sin City to catch up with the locals and experience some of the delights you guys have to offer up there..... um.... certain establishments notwithstanding.
Last time was a blast and I'm thinking the more the merrier!!
Might give ******* a miss next time though...........
I own many guitars, Fender Tele 52, Martin 000-15m, Takamine, Fender Jazz Bass, Maton 12 strings, but I have always longed for a 360/12 fireglo. The catch is that I am left handed, I have been looking everywhere (during times where I had the finances) and I always missed out on the few I've seen.
I would appreciate if you had advice as to what the best place would be to get a lefty and how much should I pay.
You have some nice guitars and a Rick would be a wonderful addition. Finding a lefty in Oz could be a difficult proposition.... they're about as rare as bum fluff on a baby!!
Given where the Aussie dollar is at the moment you might do well to look at US ebay. In spite of the $450USD or so freight and 10% GST on the guitar itself you'll probably come out well ahead of the minimum $2750 you'd pay (my opinion only) for one here..... if you could find one!! And I bet anyone who has a lefty to sell would charge an absolute premium for it, so it could be a lot more.
I'll keep my eyes open for you. PM me if you want some help re: international shipping, etc. Even though you may find many US ebay sellers who won't ship international we have many friends over there who would gladly receive locally on your behalf and on-ship to Oz.
Welcome to the forum Ilias! You should be able to find anything Rickenbacker-related around here, perhaps more even!
Eden, thanks for the concern....I've been flat out with work commitments (two catastrophes), a promotion and playing drums for two bands. Oh yeah, and family!
Brett - how the hell are you mate? We must catch up for a drink next time I'm in Sydney!

Work, work and more work... I am sure you know how it is.
The better half also wanted to have a chat to you about the positive influence you have had on my guitar purchases. Something about being led astray easily or something like that.
Definitely give me a call when you are up next, I think I owe you a few.
