I play my Rics through 50 watt Hiwatts.

Just recently I palyed a gig and used the house's Dr.Z Maz 38-watt Senior that had 2-12's in it. I loved it and am now desiring one, though the price tag is way out of my range. Also for the money, I've been impressed with the Fender Blues Junior. 1-12 and 15 watts. They sound good, project well, and easy on both the back and the wallet.

I don't know much about Dr. Z amps, having just played blues through one once. But our own Jeff Scott, and a lot of others, rave about them. They are indeed very pricey boutique amps, made in Cleveland. I'll have to return to Heights Guitars with one of my Rics to see what the Dr. Z / Ric combination sounds like. Whereabouts in Ohio are you?

Personally, all my rics sound wonderful through a small output amp. I have two, 5 and 10 watter, built by Paul Sanchez at Red Iron Amps. Hand wired, pure tube bliss.

Oh....and a nice weber cone works too.

Try the new fender deluxe modified. It is crystal clear. Little reverb and delay and of course the jangle box. Its a great sound. I couldnt believe how good that amp sounds with the ric 360 12. Gary

I still love my Fender Blues Deluxe that I bought new in 1994. But I have a Roland Blues Cube BC-30/210 that just kills. Beautiful Blackface and Tweed sounds. And if you crank the presence knob, it even gives you shades of Vox. The down side, no reverb and the don't make them anymore.

If I were in the market for a new amp today I would check out the Mesa Trans Atlantic TA15. It covers Vox clean and Top Boost. Fender Clean, Marshall High Gain, and Mesa fat high gain. It is also switchable from 5, 15, & 20 watts. It is a light weight lunchbox amp. If I ever beat this neuropothy I will be looking at one of these.

When this amp was first released at NAMM 2010 I asked Jeff Scott to check one out for me. His reply PM after playing it was simply "buy it"! Mesa has since released a TA30 that has reverb.http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/ ... tml#gpm1_2
