Janglebell Rock® SCARF 12/8/12
Here in So Cal, we just can't get enough of our jams. We really didn't have a SCARF this year either. So we're going to close the year with sort of a Christmas party with one more event. Hey, what if the Mayans were right?!
This event will be at:
Malone's Bar and Grill
604 East Dyer Road
Santa Ana, Calif 92704
We will start at noon with jamming and towards the later part of the afternoon, we will have a line up of Rickenbacker playing bands. We will have to play the end time by ear. It will depend on how many bands we have. I'm figuring we'll end no later than 9PM. I think everyone will have had enough by that time if they are there the whole time. Then it also let's Malone's plan for other things that might go on, like other possible Christmas parties and bands, DJs, etc. It also lets attendees to get to gigs if they have them that night.
The possible band line-up might include, but not limited to (in alphabetical order):
A Small World
Fallen Stars
Full Moon Fever
Hautewerk
Los Mysteriosos
Piccolo Pete
Smiling Face Down
The Generators
The Shamus Twins
I need bands that can each bring at least 20 people, not including people attending to jam or significant others. If you want to have your band in the line-up, post it here or contact me. The sooner the better to get this event worked out.
I know Scott, Jonathan and Louis C have bands. Let me know!
I'm thinking we'll just leave a backline in place if possible, to get bands on and off faster and easier.

Sadly, I no longer do. I left my band a little over a year ago due to fatherhood.rickenbrother wrote:

I'll still be trying to attend, of course!

Re: Janglebell Rock® SCARF 12/8/12
No worries, Jonathan. I've had very little feedback as far as bands are concerned anyway. I thought people would like the idea of having their band exposed to fans of other bands. If I don't have a line-up of bands by this Saturday, we'll just have the event as a jam. If there is any band interest as we near the event, we'll see if we can have them perform a few songs at some point in the jam.

We may have to re-think this event. The hours would be 2 PM to 8 PM. Depending on the interest, we might just keep it all jam. Possibly a band or two.
We will have a So Cal Rickenbacker playing band night at some point, since I don't think we'll be able to do so that day.

Sorry I missed the last one. I'll try again on this one. The wife and I will be moved into the new place by then. Mark

Re: Janglebell Rock® SCARF 12/8/12
Event update!
Since I didn't get ASAP responses from enough bands, there will be no band performances, jamming only.
The stage is ours, starting at 12 PM and we must be off the stage before 7 PM.
Those who are bringing amps and drums for the backline, please be there early so we can start jamming as soon as possible, which helps let everyone get a chance at jamming.
Be in the Christmas spirit and wear something Christmas-y, like a Santa hat!
After this jam, I think it's best to give them rest for a while.
I may try to organize a So Cal Rickenbacker playing band night in the spring, that will be bands only, no jamming.

"Not I," Jake said, sadly
Gonna be working at two places and trying to keep up appearances.

Re: Janglebell Rock® SCARF 12/8/12
I've made a sign-up sheet for for the event. Add your name to the songs you'd like to play. Please feel free to add songs and please be open minded to play songs that others have added. It's okay to bring chord charts and sheets with lyrics, just be careful with your music stands so people don't ding or scratch their guitars. I don't know about anyone else but I'd like to widen the variety of songs other than the usual ones that we play and/or hear every jam.
Here's the link: Janglebell Rock® Sign-up Sheet
Please let me know if you have any issues with the sheet.
Please bring a stand for every guitar you bring.
