Some Thieving *******...

Post by ricmic »

as some of you folks know, I'm in the merchant marine. Gone a lot. Got a call from my room mate to tell me the house had been broke into while we both were away. My cherished V63 and a not so cherished P-Bass were stolen. I'm here to get registration info for the Police report. Please join me in wishing something horrible on the thief. Mark

Sorry to hear that. Someone stole my 74 4001(NH5199) back in the early 90's and I still hold out hope I am going to find it one day. Hope they catch the thief and you get your bass back :!:

Mark, I know this is a supreme nightmare for you. You let me play your V63 at the 2011 SCARF, and I could see why you loved it so much. I can only imagine how you feel right now. Best of luck in the search. As you know, we look out for one another here!

You may want to tell the police what the serial number is to have that on record, in case it turns up in some pawn shop.

Really sorry about this.

I'm really sorry to hear this, Mark. While I always wish the hands of thieves would fall off in mid act, I'll spend more time wishing you get your V63 and P-Bass returned to you soon in the same condition they were in before they were stolen. Info, like location (not your address) serial numbers, finishes, etc. posted here and Facebook might help you get you them back.
The JETGLO finish name should be officially changed to JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Nothing lower than a guy who rips off a musician's gear. Sorry to hear that.

Definitely give police the SN#, since pawn shops are required to check the stolen property database when they buy instruments.

Make a flyer with photos of the basses and serial numbers and send them to area music stores. Post the same of area Craigs List sites.

Monitor EBAY and alert specialty sites like this one and other bass sites.

I've had success in getting some missing gear back...but not on some others. I think you have a better chance of having the basses turn up eventually if they are not collectable ones. The problem with rare ones is that you then have collectors who quietly buy them and seal them away in private collections, never to be seen again.

Sorry Mark. Make sure you post the SN here and the FB RRF site. Also mark the Register entry for your V63 as stolen.

May the thief be mashed into a pulp,,,
And his eyes gouged out,
And his elbows broke
And his kneecaps split
And his body burned away,
And his limbs all hacked and mangled

His head smashed in
And his heart cut out
And his liver removed
And his bowls unplugged
And his nostrils raped
And his bottom burnt off
And his pen--
