Okay, I figured it out. The pics were too big. Here are my two 3001s. The Blue is an April '77 and the Brown is a July '76. The neck of the brown one was already scarred when I got it. (I don't treat my basses that way!)

Welcome, Conrad. Let me guess: 1974 or '75 or '76 4001 in overall walnut (no burst) finish. Right? Either that or a refin.
