Those both look great, from the photos and your description!geofio wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 3:56 am 53167223341_5104af9e55_o.jpegI purchased 2 new Rics end of 2023, an Autumnglo 4003 checkered binding satin finish, the neck profile is a flat D shape and is so skinny, the best Rickenbacker I have owned for playability, the satin fretboard and rear of the neck are incredible, sounds fantastic, was wondering if Rickenbacker made these necks extra slim on purpose , I have a late 2023 4003s which I have converted to V63 spec same with the neck has a flatter D shaped profile not as slim as the Autumnglo , but super comfy again fantastic playing and sounding bass, must say these new Ricks are excellent, zero flaws in both my new ones , love the new bridge/tailpiece, single truss rod and the skunk stripe.Precision Bass-1195.jpg

Thanks!
Ya, this one has the best of the best for V63 features, minus the real HS, maybe.

Re: New 4003/4003S Neck Profile
I just recently acquired a FG 4001v63 that I was able to purchase at a quite reasonable price. It is a December 1994, just like my MG Dec 1994 v63, just something like 32 digits higher than my other one. They are so much alike that I am still astounded that I found it.
I bought it from a seller in Pittsburg PA. although he had bought this v63 from a seller in Tokyo Japan. Apparently this v63 was residing in Tokyo during the time of Godzilla's most recent attack on the city. It was in its silver case when it fell from a tinker toy high rise building, and it splashed into the sea for awhile, which destroyed the original case. When I got it, it had a haze all over it from its exposure to sea-water. The horsey has rust on it, from the seawater. I was able to clean it up using polishing compound and wax and while it was scratched in places(apparently from Godzilla's massive paw), but it looks really nice now!
It plays wonderfully now, and I love that it's almost identical to my Mapleglo v63!
Godzilla, DO YOUR WORST!!!

Mine is from Japan too, but luckily escaped Godzilla's reign of terror.
It's interesting, I had a '92 FG V63 years ago that also came from Japan.
Wonder what's the deal with FG V's and Japan?

I don't know, but it seems that everytime I see a FG v63 available, the seller is in Japan.
