late 50's Capri 325 wanted
I see this guitar as the missing link (along with a 360F) in my Rickenbacker collection. I've been trying for a couple of years now to track one down in mediocre to poor condition for a decent price, with an eye towards a refin to John Lennon specs.
Anyone reading this know a forum member who might consider parting with his or hers? Maybe a lead on where to find one?
Thanks,
Russ

Russell, of the small batch of around 28 that were made in 1958 and one in 1960, only between 1/3-1/2 have been posted about/located on the internet. The last one I know of that was 'for sale'(3-4 years ago) was $25K and was hardly playable from what I hear. Some have been restored to a black finish (Dale did one not long ago) but they were either blonde or two-tone brown when they left the factory. The 1960 325 is Fireglo.
You're thinking big my friend...Good luck!

Sarcasm...I recognize this as a form of jealous banter that you humans occasionally use to hurt one another's delicate sensibilities.
My momma raised no dummies. I know it's a longshot but I'm also not without means thanks to hard work and the grace of God.
I am looking for a deal on a fixer but my Grannie always used to say "If you don't ask, you don't get".
'59 315? Have I seen this instrument before
Had a shot at a '67 325 privately and I'd been thinking of making it a part of my collection but then I figured, why not shoot for the Gold instead of settling for Bronze?
Just a thought.....

You'd probably have better luck finding a Stradivarius...if you had the money for it.

Surely you could add an extra pickup to the 315? Thats the only real difference. If you are looking for a fixer upper and found a 325 minus a pickup....

True.
John, PM me with the price and details of that 315 if it's for sale or trade.
