Attachment order

Post by jps »

Gil, why is it that when adding multiple attachments the final order is reversed from the way they are added sequentially? For example, if I were to add two photos the first one I add ends up under the second one in the post. :?

I always place them inline, and put them in the order I want.

After you click Add the File, there's a button to allow you to place the attachment inline in your post.

Each photo you upload ("add the file") shows up "on top" of the one before it. So they are stacked up vertically during the upload process.

As you add photos to your post by clicking "place inline," each is placed beneath the one before it in the order you click "place online." If you skip the "place inline" step, each of the uploads will have the word "attachments" on it, as in the first attachment to this post below, and multiple attachments will show up in your post in the reverse order in which they were uploaded.

If you are looking for better control, you can ID your photos 1, 2, 3 etc. as you upload and then "place inline" uploads in the order you choose.

You ask: "Why?" If you want Gil's answer, you should probably PM him.
