New bass for me!

Post by jps »

Here is a vid of my new bass that I bought while at NAMM. I do not have possession of it yet as Jonathan Herrera from Bass Player is going to do a review of the bass. 8)

It is a Martin Keith Elfin 5 string fretless; claro walnut body with Spruce top, maple neck, ziricote fingerboard, Hipshot hardware, Harvey Citron humbucking pickups, and passive electronics. The tone control has a pull up switch that changes the way the pan control works; when the switch is down the pan works normally going between the two pickups, when pulled up the pan goes from the two outer coils to the two inner coils.

My bass comes in around 1:15.

Nice Jeff, would you PM me what you're paying for it if you don't mind? The audio was not very loud on my end but I could still hear that it had a nice (seemed very Jaco-y at times) sound. Radar activated.

That looks like a cool bass! Kinda hard to tell what it sounds like from the vid, but seems like it's probably got a good tone. Congrats! :D
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

The vid's audio is not very good at all, the bass has a very nice bottom end to it, unlike how the vid implies.

I can't tell from the video how good it sounds but it sure is a pretty bass. Congrats Jeff.
