Take Me For What I'm Worth

Post by wrd »

As a guitar player myself, I'm always seeking information about Mike and John's talents, parts played, gear and more. One of my favorite Searchers' tunes is the P.J. Proby song "Take Me For What I'm Worth." My (guess) is that - its Mike playing the solo parts in the beginning and middle of this song. Almost sounds like a Fender Telecaster. However, I believe John owned a Tele. Please shed some light on this great song and who played which guitar parts.

Here's a video of "Take Me For What I'm Worth" from the infamous Australian tour of '66. The band sounds great and Mike is clearly playing lead with John doing rhythm. Unfortunately, the TV Show credits are running on top of the song but you can hear most of it. Chris also looking cool in shades... 8)
