NGD--AVRI JAGUAR

Post by jingle_jangle »

I recently acquired a dream Fender Jaguar--the 1999 Fiesta Red AVRI prototype that was used in Fender publicity materials and displays. It is a case queen, down to its original (Fender flatwound) strings, which still sound new. It has The Sound when pumped through my Fender Reverb and '67 Dual Showman. I'm stoked.

Congrats! Beautiful Jaguar Paul! :D

Contrary to popular opinion, Leo got it right (yet again) with the Jag. Have fun!!

RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats, Paul! Gorgeous guitar!

Are you going to tell Evan about the 4005? :D

Yeah, I don't think Leo really made any mistakes wrt overall design; all of the Leo-era Fenders are cool, IMO, as are some of the post-Leo era.

What does "NGD" mean again? "New Guitar D_____"?. . "delivery?"

VERY nice! Surf city central! Excellent grab and congratulations.

BTW, love the playroom. Perfect selection of toys!

You have to love Fiesta Red, espeically so close to Valentine's Day. Congratulations Paul. In passing, I would love to hear a soundbyte of the Jazzbo with that pickup.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Congrats to you, Paul. Quite a find, and a true beauty. I'm an huge offset fan and a Fender Custom Color addict, so that guitar holds a special place in my heart. My AVRI Ocean Turquoise Jag is one of my favorite guitars ever. Such great guitars.

That is awesome Paul. Fiesta is my fave rave of the reds and you really don't see it on Jaguars that often. May I be so bold as to suggest - gold hardware? 8)

Not to steal your thunder, but I too had an offset Fender NGD just yesterday:

If it were Candy Apple or Fiesta Red, Olympic White or Sonic Blue, I'd would lust after it. Nice score, JB! I bet chicks will dig you with it!

And nice score, PW! Jags are, I feel, the ULTIMATE surf guitar. That's the first thing I'd use one for. They are a product of the 60s and I love 'em! That Fiesta Red compliments it nicely. What other styles of music can you use it for?
