Without the assistance of RIC, there is no way of knowing how many were made and any estimates From the outside looking in are too speculative to be meaningful. After nearly 15 years of searching we have one 1964 six string and five 1964 12 strings in the Register. Nonetheless a great question and one that holds fascination for most Rickenbacker enthusiasts.

Does this guitar have binding on both sides, or does the top have rounded corners..? What kind of finish does the guitar have..?

I remember another roundtop 360 or 365 floating around that had been routed for humbuckers but had been put back right, save for the wooden inserts under the toasters....did you get that one John...?

Larry sent me pictures of his guitar a FG 365 from August 1964. SN is DH965.

He also has a 1966 MG 360 OS... Lucky guy!

Here are the pics.

Something is up with the Accent Vibrato - I suggested he try to find a replacement here on the forum.. :D :D :D

All in all a very nice guitar, and IMHO pretty early in the run of the round-top 360s, period.

John Williams has one from April 1964 that is pretty funky, and probably a prototype for the design.

Nice one! I've got a Dec '64 375 that may have started life as a 365. It also has the Van Ghents. It's interesting to note that between your serial and mine they rolled over at least once (mine's DL781) assuming they were using a 3-digit number and actually serializing. I like the way the '64 fireglos have that dark red outer border--almost burgundy.
If it is to be, it is up to me.

Larry's guitar = viewtopic.php?f=68&t=405127

Larry, you done scored big time. Very strange get-up on the Accent, it looks like it was drilled through the spring and number stamped into the top? Odd...

You could be up and running with the other half of the vibrato (comb part), a handle and a new couple rubber pads that go in those holes. Does the vibrato say "pat pend" on the end? Many in '64 did.

Does anyone have pics of a dissembled Accent vibrato? How does it go together? :?: :?:
