This is my first Rickenbacker and its unusual in that the neck doesn't match the body. From what I can see when I look inside, it appears the body color is original and the neck seems original. The body is Burgundy Glo and the neck is a clear coat. Thoughts?

A previous owner removed the neck and refinished it; it did not come from Rickenbacker like that when new.

Or the neck and body are from two different 481s. Someone created this guitar out of two RICS..
Some where perhaps there is a Mapleglo 481 with a Burgundy neck!!

Re: Ric 481 finish question...
I thought it could have been parts from two different guitars too, but after looking under the pickguard am leaning towards the possibility that the neck was refinished. Thanks!
