Walnut 4003 being discontinued?
Can anyone confirm this? I've read a couple of post's over at talkbass saying that Ric is going to discontinue the Walnut series.
I hope not. I'd like to pick up a 4003SW down the road.

Scott, where on Talkbass did you see that? I've just started lurking over there and I couldn't find anything 'cept for someone speculating that "this would be the only year RIC made them in Walnut..." but the date was mid 2014....cheyenne wrote:Can anyone confirm this? I'd like to know, because I've had thoughts of getting a 4003SW....

Its possible I was reading an old post,,there's alot of old threads drifting around over there. I just thought I'd post the question here and find out for sure. I hope its just hearsay, I think the walnut series deserves place in the Rickenbacker lineup. (4004 series as well).

Lots of noise over there that tends to obscure the signal many times. TB is a cool site but there is way too much misinformation, gossip, slandering, seemingly real hatred for some things, etc., over there.

It better not be discontinued! I just sent off the revised timeline/family tree graphic for the 2nd edition of the book, and it shows the 4003, 4003W, 4003S, 4003SW, 4004L, and 4004Cii continuing on to 2020!

I think the new CITES regulations would encourage RIC to continue with the Walnut/Maple combo.
Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .

I just told my wife that had to start my 4003 walnut fund because BH and JH said it was OK.
