Re: NRR-Recording advice needed
It's the current Onyx 24-4 Bus. Neither this one or the 32 channel console have FireWire ports. Yes, I'm using the DB-25 connectors to get into my Alesis HD-24 hard disk recorder. I know, it's not the newest gear out there. The issue I have with the mentioned solutions are the computer. I don't curr...

Re: NRR-Recording advice needed
Thanks for the reply. The console I have is the 24-4 Bus. That console does not have a FireWire connection. It has 24 direct outs on DB-25 connectors which is how I'm connecting to the HD-24 recorder. I would have considered doing as Mr. Hall suggested, but I don't have that option available on my c...

NRR-Recording advice needed
I know this is a bass forum and this question isn't necessarily bass related, but I've always found a wealth of information here and was wondering if I could get some input here. A few years ago I bought an Alesis HD24 Digital Multi-track recorder. I also have a Mackie Onyx 4 bus console that does g...

Re: Rics and feedback
Thanks. I'll take a closer look at which pickup is doing it and look at a rewind. Thanks for the input!

Re: Rics and feedback
It's a 1979 4001. What can be done to reduce microphonic pickups?

Rics and feedback
Hey guys, it's been a while since I've been here. I have a question about Rics and feedback. I know any pickup is vulnerable to feedback if the conditions are right (or wrong). My question, though, is why is it that Rics seem prone to feedback much more than any other bass I have. I can stand right ...

Re: My 4000...
Thanks the responses. I was hoping Ric would be helpful with the jackplate. Will they re-etch a new plate with the original SN#? If any of you could, would you please pm me contact info for any of these guys so I can start getting ready to get this bass worked on? What do you all think about the ori...

My 4000...
Hey, guys...it's been a while since I've been around but I need some assistance. You all may remember (or not) that I purchased a Ric 4000 a little over a year ago. It needed some neck work. It seems the set neck joint is loose and needs to be reset. I haven't done anything with it because I didn't ...

Re: Not Ric related, but I need setup help...
Thanks, Big Al. It's been a while since I've seen you around. Yeah, I'm starting to think this neck may be a bit wonky. I'm going to try adjusting it again later this evening and see if I can't get this thing leveled out. It's a nice bass, but that neck may need replacing. I'll see how it goes. I ha...

Not Ric related, but I need setup help...
Mods, please excuse me if this is in the wrong place or if it is disallowed, but I need some help. I know you guys are a treasure trove of information on all things Ric (and other makers' gear as well) so I really wanted to see if someone could give me a hand. So a guy I know asked me to look at his...

Re: Replacement case for 4001/3
I got two fitted G&G silver cases on ebay a few months back...I think they were about $150/each. The guy said he had just bought 10 and was selling them off. I needed a replacement for my '68 4001 and my '81 4000 didn't have a case at all. The cases are really nice and they were new. I don't rem...

Thanks...I got some good responses on Talk Bass. I wasn't so much ranting about what happened over there as I was saying thanks to you guys for all the help you've offered me and others in the past. You guys always amaze me with your insight.
