Re: Rickenbacker with Marshall Amps
I've been using a Marshall DSL40C with a Creamback for a year or so since my AC-30 TBX got too heavy for my age. It has a great clean channel for the 12 string & a crunch setting on the same "green channel" that handles my pedal board fine. I have zero use for the "red" hi-ga...

Re: George Harrison SG
I bought one of those SG Originals because I loved the look of the Harrison/Ham guitar. To make it totally playable I put a bone nut & Tone Pros roller bridge on it. IMO its the best SG Gibson has made in years.

Re: Höfner Debuts “Cavern” Versions Contemporary and Ignitio
My best friend & bass player in my band just got one of these. Once he got it "strapable" it KICKS! He plays through a real SVT and sounds incredible. It has just the right amount of highs which suprised me. Of course it has the Hofner bottom end!

Re: 330-12 set up in North Carolina - recommendations!
Nick & Craig @ the NC guitar works (beside the Filmore) in Charlotte do great work. They're really good nut cutters too! Nick did a great job setting up my V64-12. It was like a new guitar (better) when I got it back. Perfect intonation which is hard to get on a Ric 12 with the regular bridge. I...

Re: 360/12V64
Y'all got me thinkin'. I've got a 96 V64 12 & a 09 381 V69 6. Would I benefit from swaping the toasters from these guitars? I share the opinions from what I read here. The only thing I'm leary of is losing the great clean tones I'm getting from my 381 & I'm battling feedback when I boost (wi...

Re: New 381 V69 that almost spoke to me!
Thanks Kevin! That is what I will do- the capo thing! My 381 is a 6 stringer. I've had a 360V64-12 for years and its a bear too, just not in the tailpiece area.

Re: Role Call Old and New
I'm from N.C., near Charlotte. I've had Ric 12 strings (370 & 360V64) for years & recently got a 6 string 381V69 that I'm loving. I've been studying this site since 2004 and have learned so much from the folks on here.
Thank Y'all!

Re: New 381 V69 that almost spoke to me!
I'm so thankful I've had quite a few years on the 12 string Ric as I can navigate the knobs on this 381. It is a diferent animal though. I can get more tones out of this thing than my 335 Gibson. The fullness that I can get between the lows and highs is remarkable! The key is remembering knob positi...

Re: New 381 V69 that almost spoke to me!
Thanks man! I've been playin' this thing all night. Now for the learning how to change strings! It can't be as hard as my 360 12 v64!

New 381 V69 that almost spoke to me!
I'm kinda a Gibson 6 stringer & Ric 12 guy & have been for years. I've never had a Ric 6 stringer. I was in a band one time a long time ago where the other guitar player had one of those 625 Rics with toasters and he could NEVER get a good tone through a tube amp. He'd use a rat distortion o...

Re: Serial number location on V64 360-12
Well, I learned from the register that this is the ser. # and it probably is a 360-12V64 made 96? to 04. I've been playing it bunches & wanted to learn a little something about it since I've kinda grown quiet fond of it.

Serial number location on V64 360-12
I got this guitar 8 or 9 years ago at a guitar show. it was advertised as a 360-12 V64. Its got toasters & the old plain tailpiece. The only numbers I can find on it are stamped on the input jackplate. on the top it says H9 and on the bottom it has 5779. I'd kind of like to know a little somethi...
