Re: Question for Shadow owners

I bought one off E-bay several years ago before I really knew what I was getting. I bought it simply because it looked so cool; I had always regretted giving up my white RIC I bought in 1980 and sold a few years later. Since all my other current basses are black on black it was a good companion. Whe...

Kind of has a 'Song Remains the Same' vibe. Saw JPJ at the House of Blues LA on his Zooma tour, a great night with a master. Never got to see Zeppelin but did see both Page/Plant tours. First one had the Egyptian orchestra along with a local philharmonic which was quite amazing. Second tour seemed t...

It's a cool bass, lightweight and sleek (and black!) Got an 86 Shadow bass that I really like as well.

I picked one up a few years ago for $1,800 on E-bay; didn't realize what I had bought until I did some research on these forums. It came with Bartolinis which I replaced with hi-gains. Great instrument that I will never sell!

I've got an 86' shadow that I picked up on e-bay a few years ago. Had no idea how rare it was, I bought it because it looked so dang cool-black on black with the checkered binding. I had sold a 79 4001 years and years ago and wanted to get a Ric back in my collection. I was pleasantly surprised at h...

While there is some discussion on the 4004 I have a couple of questions/comments. I bought a new jetglo 4004L in late '05; it's a stunningly beautiful instrument and came with the neck pick-up adj. to the fretboard, like they used to be. My only complaint with this bass is that the neck seems a bit ...

I bought an ABMII 500 watt head and a 4 ohm 4x10 a couple years ago; this rig kicks ***. The head is light and the cabinet is manageable. I've had many, many rigs over the years, including Trace, which was my favorite before it was stolen. Ashdown's got a real warm bottom end with a nice edge to the...

I picked up a 4004L about a year ago after about a long search, it had to be black... The first thing I noticed was that the bass was really light, which is nice. The neck is a bit wide, more so than my 4003 Blackshadow; kind of like a P-bass next to a J-bass (both of which I also own). It has a nic...

I've got one I bought on e-bay a few years ago. I had no idea it was so rare, I bought it 'cause it looked so dang cool. Turned out it plays and sounds as awesome as it looks.
