Ditto to a piece of tape under the R tail piece, and putting a little bend in the end of the cut string. I'm down to about 45 minutes with the 360, but that also includes some polishing and cleaning. 30 minutes or less with the 660. (15-20 minutes with my Ovation, but that's another story ...

Fret Sizes

Does anyone know the fret sizes Ric uses for these models: (recent manufacture)
360
650
660

Thanks in advance.

Agree with Mfb. My 2007 Sierra is flat on the rear/bottom. I think it keeps it from feeling too chunky.

I got my 650 Sierra 3 weeks ago (ordered over a year ago :-)0 and it was well worth the wait.

I also used Dr. Stringfellow per Beatlefreak's recommendation, and can't believe how well my fingers slide up and down the neck! This is easily going to be come my favorite 6 stringer. (Just might ...

I own both a 660-12 AND a (new) 650 sierra, and love them both. If you're used to a Strat neck, the 650 will feel weird at first. I go back and forth between by Gibson, Fender and my 3 Rics, and there's definitely adjusting to be done. But as frets go, I just love the 650 and the 660.

Peter, my apologies. I did not think my original question had an attitude at all. It was not my intent to create any animosity whatsoever.

I detected some sarcasm in his response, and in hindsight, should have taken another approach for my own response. I'm disappointed, however, that he did not ...

Same shape? Same color? With all due respect to Mr. Hall, that's the most convoluted logic I've heard in a while.

Using that train of thought, Rickenbacker should be offering the same color variety Fender does (after all, those same four Ric colors might get "particularly boring)".

The point ...

Neck width history

Ok all you Rick historians. Can anyone tell me why Rickenbacker decided on the current neck widths for their models? I love all 3 of my Rics, but often wonder why they didn't settle on one width and stick with it (particularly for their 6 string models). I absolutely love the shape of the neck on my ...

Thanks to all. I'm thinking of a black one, since to my eye, the gold doesn't fit well (unlike my 650S, nothing else on the guitar is gold). I'll probably keep the original in case I ever decide to sell it.

New Pick guards

Anyone have experience with pick guards from Pickguardian.com? I'm thinking of putting a different color guard on my 660-12BBR.

Thanks in advance (as always!)

Agree about that floor comparo, having owned a house with hardwoods...

I'll give your recommendation a try. The Ric literature is rather specific on what to use and what NOT to use on the guitar itself, but sadly says nothing about day to day upkeep with the neck. One question, however. I ...

650 neck polish

Any suggestions on the best polish/wax/cleaner to use on my new 650 sierra neck? Tung oil doesn't seem appropriate between sets... and I don't want to mess up the "natural" finish.

Thanks!
