"Maybe one amp with two separate channel is what Andrew talk about"

Yes, that's what I meant. The guitar player in my band runs two lines into both channels of his Hiwatt and leaves one completely clean and put his distortion on the other line. It sounds far better than just running a single line ...

Polywebs have a thicker coating than nanowebs and they 're affected by the coating, while nano's are more like regular strings. I don't like nano's, but i love polywebs. The coating protecting the string is one thing, but they sound different to me and I think they sound great. The low end on them ...

Who uses the Ric-o-sound kit with their 4003?

And how do you use it? Two amps? double input on one?

Given that 4004 players often comment on the darker tone of these basses an ebony board could work both for looks and sound.

Pot mod?

I know I read it here somewhere but I can't find it now. Is there a mod you can do to a 4003 to make it bassier by changing the value of a pot... or was it a cap?

Also, I find the stock 4003 pickups a tad too hot, is there a way to curb their bite besides sinking them into the body?

Replacement pickups?

Has anyone tried either the duncan or bartolini replacement pickups in their bass, and if so can you give me a comparison/contrast to the stock 4003 pickups?

your thinking is probably right in most cases Mark, but John Hall stated on the ric site forum that any company offering an arrival date on a ric is full of it because ric doesn't offer ETA dates to their sellers.

"Andrew, Could you tell me more about the Budda Phatbass? I've looked at it many times but I always end up getting scared away by the cost.
Thanks for your time,

Hi Bob,
The phatbass is a great pedal at giving you a really warm, natural sounding distortion. it sounds the most like an ...
