Re: Folks doing Drop D

This is a really interesting topic. I had no idea that so many of us were actually going thru the whole drop D thing.
I myself have upscaled from a 105 gauge string to a 110 set and the feel or loss of the feel that I've grown accustomed to is minimal.
Dropping from E (Standard tuning) a full step ...

Re: Question about Drop D tuning

Wow, a pitch shifter sounds fantastic as long as it doesn't have to much of a mechanical flavor to it. ie: some lower end harmonizers.
I emailed Digitech and asked about using it for a full step drop with a bass and their response was that it would work fine for bass.

Gonna do some research and ...

Re: Question about Drop D tuning

I can also vouch for Circle K Strings. I used their balanced .112 set tuned DGCF on my 4003 and was very pleased with the result. It had the feel of a set of .100s at that tuning.

Thats pretty amazing! God I hope that works out for me the same way!
DGCF is the same thing I'm going for
Thanks for ...

Re: Question about Drop D tuning

Cool! thanks for the info. I looked them up and "dropped" them (pun intended)
a line. I'm good with using either a short scale or a long scale for this particular project.....was just hoping for an excuse to use my Lil RIC! :)

Question about Drop D tuning

Kind of a weird question for you guys.
I have a gig coming up that'll be classic metal/rock.
i want to use my RIC 3000 short scale (used 'em before with this kind of music and it's been fine)
problem is that the singer is getting on in age and really wants us to drop down a full step tuning wise ...

Here's a few pics of my 3000's
I love the classic guitar shape of the body and the Lennonesq style of the headstock.

Haven't posted anything yet in the registry so that one must belong to another.

Re: truss cover and guard cloro options on a 76 RIC 3000

I'll shoot a couple of pics tonight of it along side of my '78 azureglo 3000
They do feel a bit heavy for their size but it kinda adds to the solid feel overall of it.
The truss cover on the jetglo does say model 3000 on it so I guess that means it could be original.
i spoke with the seller a bunch ...

truss cover and guard cloro options on a 76 RIC 3000

I have a May 76 jetglo 3000 with black truss and guard.
The guy I bought it from said he bought it new in late 76 tried to play it a few times and put it away.
I happened to be on the bay the moment he listed it and snagged it up using BIN button. there is barely a scratch on it that didn't buff ...
