I saw Roger at an outdoor venue in suburban Philadelphia on July 29th and he was incredible. A chilly mist kept the crowd on the smaller side but Roger, a true professional and bonafide legend, was undaunted. He performed the sacred Byrds canon using his Rickenbacker and a Martin 12 string. A ...

In the fall of 1964 I attended my first high school dance, a real rite of passage for an eigth grader in suburban Philadelphia. The host of the weekly dance was(and still is) a local TV/radio personality named Wee Willie Webber and at one point he played the new Searchers single, What Have They Done ...

From a current day perspective, most of the great
bands of the British Invasion are regarded as mere
"rehashers" of American Pop and R&B.(Obvious
exceptions being the Beatles, Stones, Yardbirds,
the Who, and a few others though they were
essentially doing the same thing.)It would seem that the ...

I would just like to add that I agree with grsnovi's statement that The Byrds ceased to be "The Byrds", classic model, without Gene and
David. I do believe, however, that in the great pantheon of Rock history only Roger's name can be uttered in the same breath with Lennon, McCartney, Dylan, Jagger ...

grsnovi....I agree pretty much with your assessment of the Byrds' demise. Johnny Rogan's
Timeless Flight, one of the great Rock biographies, goes into heartbreaking (if you're a Byrds fanatic such as I ) detail of the events leading up to the breakup of The Byrds. I recommend it to all Byrds of a ...

Liverpool, over the years, was a destination for many Irish immigrants and became well known as an Irish Catholic enclave. I believe Manchester to a degree also. Besides Gerry, Peter Noone, and John and Mike from the Searchers, at least half the Beatles, Paul and George, were baptized as Catholics ...

I did see the PBS special and I agree wholeheartedly...Wayne Fontana WAS a great surprise. Eric Burdon apparently no longer sings.
He scream/talks the vocal. Maybe it was an off night but it was annoying and disappointing. He will still always be one of the greatest. Peter Noone is ageless. He still ...
