Hi everyone!
So the "R" tailpiece on my 340-12 has finally given in and broke apart.
I'm currently living in the UK, but Rosetti (the official distributor here) does not sell it at all, and neither does RickySounds.
I'd be more than glad to get a new one from Pick of the Ricks, but apparently ...

Re: Hi-Gain changes
Thanks for the clarification guys!
As you have noticed I'm a player with no little to none electronics expertise... :|
So have any of you done this to a modern guitar? Is it a noticeable difference?
As I said, I'm not exactly looking for a different sound right now, but since it's a fairly ...

Re: Hi-Gain changes
Hey all!
I purchased my first Ric earlier this year (a 2008 340/12) and I'm loving the hi-gain sound, either clean or through the JangleBox (I have the silver version).
So I was reading the Ted Breaux article on vintage pickups and he talks about placing a .47mF capacitor between the treble ...

Re: First time!
I'm thinking about pairing up the chrome flats with the corresponding rounds from the 12-string nickel set.
I just hope this is not too crazy...

Re: First time!
I did JUST happen to find a set of D'Addario flatwound 0.10's in a store near my workplace!
How do you feel about pairing them up with the 0.10's from the roundwound set?
Anyone ever tried this approach? I might just try it...
I'm sure the TI Flats sound amazing but shipping to Brazil takes a ...

Re: First time!
That was a real shame. I'm not really a F1 enthusiast though, mainly because the races here are narrated by the most obnoxious TV personality, Galvao Bueno. His voice just makes me want to turn the TV off.
As to the RIC 8) 8) :
Just left it with my tech to restring and adjust the action a little ...

Re: First time!
He's not a bad racer but he lacks charisma so badly that most Brazilians don't like him.
Sadly there will never be another Senna.

Re: First time!
I'm in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Largest city this side of the Equator.
However I do like to take a trip to the US once a year or so. So many guitars and effects at reasonable prices!
Customs duties here are astronomical. On my last visit I flew back with an American Tele and had to pay half of its ...

Re: First time!
Thank you guys!
Any bass player holding a Ric surely deserves the ladies' attention. Their basses absolutely rock!
In fact I'm very excited that YES is coming back to South America. Chris Squire has the best RIC sound in my opinion.
Very Best,
Rodrigo

First time!
Hello everyone,
I have always consulted this page for researching purposes but this is my first post as an actual member.
As of last weekend I have become the proud owner of a 2008 Rickenbacker 340/12 in Fireglo!
I think the previous owner never really restrung it or had it set up correctly ...
