I was of the MTV (90125 generation.) The first time I saw them was 90125 tour at Sandstone Amphitheater in Kansas City, KS in 1984. I was not into them before that. (I was too young in the 70's.) The only albums I had of them then were 90125, Classic Yes, and Going for the One(given to me). After ...

Kevin that is a nice looking FG 4000!! With TV knobs and all..I like it!

I think a late 60's 4000 is probably the ultimate 4000 bass, (walnut wings and all!). Anyone got one to show? I know they are rare...

Those are all sweet basses!!! Here is my sort of "S".. My 4000MG vintage 1975. Unfortunately it's not going to gig alot now because it now has a dead spot on the 5th fret of the A string, and needs a fret dressing. I'm blessed with the basses I have, and the Ricks are the best! I love'em all!! http ...

I don't post messages here a lot, but I read this thread and well....Welcome to this forum Chris Squire, I'm a long time fan. (And, like many other bassists here at this forum) you are "the" bass player, that influenced me to become a bassist. It's an honor to see you here, and hope you and we all ...

I love Track 2- "Armour and Sword", great track

I like this album a lot, it's not a classic, but with CD's and album oriented rock fading-what is anymore!

IMO---If Geddy played a Rickenbacker (4000 or 4001 or 4003) again, people would not be so disappointed with their new stuff. Right??

Quigley's is gone.... and the last time I drove by, it looked to be some kind of furniture store. Several other music stores in KC are gone now too. But, Musicians Friend warehouse is in Kansas City and you have to order from the catalog like everyone else.. Unless, there is a Rick in the clearance ...

Yes, it is a 4003s/5 modded with v63 pick-guard and pickup surround. (I bought the Horseshoe pickup surround off e-bay several years ago from someone here at this forum, but I forgot who.) I'd still need to switch out the nameplate with a vintage style, for a more vintage look, but why bother....

I had this same problem with my 4003 but not NEARLY as bad--just a small chip... I fixed mine with a little paint...and it was good as new.... I think maybe extra screws at the base of the bridge would solve this (lift??) problem that could cause chipping or cracks on a hard high polish finish. I ...

Hi, I was reading this thread and remembered I saw Wetton playing a 4001 in this Asia video. Probably Asia's version of a hoakey 80's love song..

Has anyone here tried taking the bridge pickup from a 70's 4001 and put it in a new modern standard 4003? (Pre-push pull tone option) It has the bite and tone of the vintage 70's, and high-output bass can be dialed in on top with the modern neck hi-gain. I did not add a cap though, as I feel it did ...

I hang a few of mine by the neck on the wall, and have had NO problems. I do use the Rickenbacker polish cloth or to wrap around the hanger to protect the guitar from the ozone rot (or whatever the rubber does to the guitar finish...) and to help hold the guitar in place better.. In fact I feel ...
