Does anybody still have this around somewhere, or know of a torrent or site where I can get it? I missed out on the original posting and the link expired on me, but I would like to hear the demos.
Thanks, guys!

Gene and David singing Mr. Tambourine Man?
I've heard the famous story several times about the Byrds going into the studio with Gene, Dave, and Roger taking turns singing lead on Mr. Tambourine Man with the group as well as the producer deciding that Roger's version was by far the best after hearing the playback.
My question is, does Gene ...

Lady Friend tab or chord chart?
Does anybody have a tab or chord chart for Lady Friend? Or know where to point me towards one? I love the song, but I've had some difficulty trying to figure it out by ear. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: 12-string songs by Petty, Byrds, Beatles, you enjoy playing?
I was just telling a friend earlier today how I wish I'd written Chimes Of Freedom more than almost any other song.
Does anybody have a tab or ever a chord chart around for Lady Friend? Now that I'm back home in Kansas, I've played it (on the iPod) like 50 times, but I can't seem to find a tab for ...

Re: 12-string songs by Petty, Byrds, Beatles, you enjoy playing?
Something I just enjoyed jamming along to that came up in iTunes (and I ended up playing about three times) is Shine On by The Kooks, who are a wonderful newer band from England. The song itself is pure perfection (with a real Mellotron) but the sound of a 12-string matched very nicely with the tone ...

+1
I've never been a huge fan of blues or greens on guitars (or pastel colors, regardless of color) but I must admit that I really love the Midnight Blue.

Those are all amazing selections. I'd thought of Growin' Up today (which is one of my favorite songs, as is all of Springsteen's first record. As is Play With Fire, another excellent choice) when some friends and I got together to celebrate the holiday and we did Sandy (4th Of July Asbury Park ...

Thanks for all the compliments everybody, I really appreciate it.
And Kira, your advice couldn't be more appropriate. Last night I was playing around with it around 7:30 and just playing cover songs and writing little things for songs I already have and decided I'd stop at 9:00 and watch a movie ...

Nice! Sometimes it's the surprising little finds like that that end being the best players or the more inspiring guitars. Congrats!

Another great Tom Petty song on twelve string is You Wreck Me .
I've noticed that as well. Back when I was in a band, we did the song nightly (although on a Telecaster, sometimes my 330, just depended on string breakage mostly.) and we all wore corduroy pants as part of our "uniform" of matching ...

Re: 12-string songs by Petty, Byrds, Beatles, you enjoy playing?
I believe you're right, I think I do remember somebody telling me at one time that Little Steven/Miami Steve Van Zandt was using a JG 660/12, but I lost it somehow somewhere in the caverns of my mind. The tone he got on stage is unmistakable, you know it's him playing. So that pleases me very much ...

Thanks, I enjoyed that! I agree with you, it was quite interesting but still really good.
How long have you been waiting on your 360/12? Mine was ordered 11/21/05, but I put my claim down on it on December 23rd. It was a longer wait than most people will ever know. (You're one of those that do ...

Re: Rickenbacker 670/12?
My friend from whom I bought my 370/12RM MG, when he heard my 660/12TP FG, said something like, "that sounds more like McGuinn than the McGuinn!"
That pleases me a lot, in fact, more than you'll ever know. Do Jangleboxes ever come around used? Or is there anything that compares to them? After ...

Re: Lets see your 660's or 620's
Thank you, good sir. It's so beautiful in person that I can NEVER photograph just how the great the flaming is. It's so 3-dimensional and striking. My grandmother is way into antiques, and she said "Some dresser maker would have killed you for that 'tiger maple'" which is the biggest compliment she ...
