(You're one of those that do, though. I liken it to what somebody experiences when they're waiting to get out of jail. )
Ordered May 9, 2007. If it doesn't arrive by Christmas, I may seek an alternative strategy. Or, I may continue waiting.

So I bought it, sat down to watch it, and what's he using? A 660/12! I feel especially validated in getting a 660 now. My monitor is less than great, and I'm 99% positive that he's rocking a JetGlo, but it could be DCM or Midnight Blue, honestly. But if I had to lay down a bet, I'd put it on JetGlo.
You're right, it was a Jetglo 660/12. Elsewhere on the RRF it was stated that it was a borrowed guitar. Borrowed from whom, I don't recall; possibly from one of Springsteen's band members.

I believe you're right, I think I do remember somebody telling me at one time that Little Steven/Miami Steve Van Zandt was using a JG 660/12, but I lost it somehow somewhere in the caverns of my mind. The tone he got on stage is unmistakable, you know it's him playing. So that pleases me very much.

Was there something special about your 330? COY? Something else? That's an exceptionally long wait for just a standard factory guitar. I knew I was in for a wait being a COY, and being a 660, which they don't seem to make too many of. But for a 330/12, you've been much more than patient.

I don't know if it helped my case or not (probably not) but I started e-mailing the shop I ordered mine from every Monday once I felt that I'd waited an amount of time that was pretty ridiculous, and after a few weeks they had mine ready. Like I said, I don't know if it helped, but like Mama always said "The squeaky wheel gets the grease." It might be worth a shot for you.
Thanks!

I've noticed that as well. Back when I was in a band, we did the song nightly (although on a Telecaster, sometimes my 330, just depended on string breakage mostly.) and we all wore corduroy pants as part of our "uniform" of matching suits, so that was always a fun one to do. And it was a nice one to dedicate to a girl in the crowd. At least much better than the time our bassist misread the set list and dedicated Positively 4th Street to his girlfriend instead of one of our originals. :D I can only imagine how fun their car-ride home was.
Thanks!

"You Wreck Me" does sound good on a 12-string, but a Tele nails the sound.

Here's some interesting songs to try on a 12-string:
Get Off of My Cloud - The Rolling Stones
Blue Turns to Grey - The Rolling Stones
Mother's Little Helper - The Rolling Stones
Tired of Waiting for You - The Kinks
A Well Respected Man - The Kinks
Sunny Afternoon - The Kinks
Carrie Ann - The Hollies

A few weeks back, my band did a series of gigs promoting the Tom Stoppard play, Rock and Roll, at the Wilma Theatre in Philadelphia, PA. We were asked to do some covers and some originals, but the covers, I must admit, were the most fun, especially the ones on which I used my 660/12 BBR. Several of the songs have already appeared in this thread:

The Kids Are Alright
Growin' Up (Springsteen)
Well-Respected Man
If I Needed Someone
Play With Fire (Stones)/ The One I Love (REM) medley
1988 360 JG, 2008 660-12 AFG, 2009 330 FG

Those are all amazing selections. I'd thought of Growin' Up today (which is one of my favorite songs, as is all of Springsteen's first record. As is Play With Fire, another excellent choice) when some friends and I got together to celebrate the holiday and we did Sandy (4th Of July Asbury Park). Another song it sounded quite excellent on, although not in the style of the original was The Weight. It added a little difference (that for me at least) made it exciting in a way it hadn't been in a long time.
Thanks!

Something I just enjoyed jamming along to that came up in iTunes (and I ended up playing about three times) is Shine On by The Kooks, who are a wonderful newer band from England. The song itself is pure perfection (with a real Mellotron) but the sound of a 12-string matched very nicely with the tone and feel of the song. It may result in a Dusty Murphy cover soon! :)
Thanks!

"Chimes of Freedom" of late for me. Late.....Goofyfoot.
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.

I was just telling a friend earlier today how I wish I'd written Chimes Of Freedom more than almost any other song.

Does anybody have a tab or ever a chord chart around for Lady Friend? Now that I'm back home in Kansas, I've played it (on the iPod) like 50 times, but I can't seem to find a tab for it and it simply boggles my mind.
Thanks!

Playing catchup!
Two of my current faves to play are 'This is Why You Love Me' by the Brian Jonestown Massacre (Less than 2 minutes of pure pop perfection) and 'Flower Scene' by Plasticland (paisley and pachouli pocket prog pop).
Um... my band
The Type Five
And some tunes here:

One of my favorite Byrds' song to play on a RIC 12-string is "5th Dimension". I especially like the guitar outro solo. It has a mesmerizing, almost "bagpipe-like" feel.

If you haven't yet done so, check out the YouTube videos of David Whitt demoing various Byrds' tunes. He does a nice job on the guitar breaks of many Byrds' songs.
