Re: Laredos shipped!

Has anyone had the chance A/B 4004's with the ABM and Schaller bridges yet? I have always been uncomfortable about the amount of freeplay in the ABM rollers with the strings off and how that ultimately affects the tranfer of vibration to the body. These Schallers look less complex and was wondering ...

Re: FINALLY!! 4004L BBR - Your thoughts, please

Awesome Bass, congrats. Ben Hall was right when he said BBR looked best on the 4004.

This post does bring up the interesting topic of man vs machine, I have always liked the hand produced nature of Ricks and since a human can't match the tolerances of a machine, it is inevitable that variations ...

Re: Polishing iPod?

Paul, thank you for your very thorough reply, I guess the short answer was buy a new one! It's funny you should mention glass as I was going to ask about the scratches on my windscreen...

Somewhere in your forum someone referred to your good self as 'Mr Mudgeon' and I got thinking of a ...

Polishing iPod?

Dear Cur Mudgeon
I was wondering, since you are the undisputed expert on finish restoration can you suggest anything that will remove the (many) scratches from the screen of my ipod?

Re: PRIMER ON THE CARE AND FEEDING OF RICK FINISHES

I agree the key ingredients are readily available even here in the UK, it is the laser cut plexiglass sanding blocks that are difficult to find. The cotton nappies available over here are either terry cotton or muslin are either of these of any use for polishing?

Re: PRIMER ON THE CARE AND FEEDING OF RICK FINISHES

Dear Cur Mudge, I was wondering if the RIC restoration kits you mentioned in this thread ever saw the light of day?

John, thank you for that information, you have given me yet more food for thought!

I was thinking about getting another pickguard (which is 1/8" thick) enlarging the pot and switch holes and putting it under the original pickguard. It might look a bit funky, but at least you won't get dust in the ...

Thanks for your comments.

RCB, I hadn't but it is a great idea and I will look into it.

Nab, I think that answers my question!

Since the PG switch is slanted and Susanna's is vertical that would explain the extra routing Route66 spoke of (in an old thread), that said I haven't looked under ...

LOL I didn't know if there was a 350 fellowship either!!! Obviously there is a good case for having one.

This was a case of GAS on sight, so at the moment Lou I'm using a POS practice amp (sacrilege I know) while my wallet recovers...although I'm tempted to try it through my F**der TBP-1 bass ...

350v63 Selector Switch Mod

Does anyone know if a Stratocaster 5 way switch will fit in the control cavity of the 350 without additional routing?

Wow, more great shots, thanks Erik.

I now know what John and Ben Hall look like...they look kinda normal...that is to say I didn't realise just how 'hands on' they are!!

I wonder if Lemmy's bass has stereo ric-o-sound! lol
