Re: Out of tune 650C

Thanks for all your help, folks. My tuning problems are over! I did several things to remedy them, so I don't know for sure which thing was the solution but here is what I did:

Tightened up the tension screws on the tuners
Put on new Elixir polymer coated strings (9 - 42)
Stretched the new strings ...

Re: Out of tune 650C

No, I don't, and I don't have the equipment to make that happen. I have tightened up the tension screws, as suggested by JimK, and now I am letting some time pass and playing it to see if that will have solved the problem. If not, I will have to look at some of the more complicated solutions you are ...

Out of tune 650C

I bought a used 1998 650C about a year ago, and I find that it just won't stay in tune. It occurs to me that maybe the tuning keys need to be replaced because they are getting old. Does anyone have any experience with this issue? I am using the right string gauge (9 - 42) for this guitar, and it is ...

Re: Beatles' influences

Yes, but all of these answers take us right back to where we started - whether it was Elvis, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Motown, the Beach Boys, the Everly Brothers, Paul's father's dance hall music, the Asher family, or any of the other acknowledged influences cited here, none of it would seem to ...

Beatles' influences

The Beatles were always saying that their music came from Little Richard and other such primitive rock n' roll sources, three chord stuff. If that is the case then where did all their complex melodies, harmonies, and chord progressions come from, unless there are some unacknowledged influences. One ...

I can't wait to see that, since I play in a Beatles homage band (we don't dress up in the suits and try to impersonate them, we just play the music). We're too old and fat and bald to try to look like them.

Dallas, Texas

Hey everybody,

I am just posting this to anybody around the Dallas area who might be interested in coming to hear our band play. I recently joined this Beatles cover band called Scrambled Eggs. I just had to start putting my Rickenbacker 660/12 to an appropriate use! So anyway, we will be playing ...

Well, it looks like we are in danger of having no drummer for this session, as Tony has said he doesn't know if he can come, since he is scheduled to work at that time. He'll try to get out of work, but makes no promises. None of the other drummers I have invited have responded. So if any of you ...
