Re: Buzz n' Rattle
Just to be thorough, check those tuning machine washers one more time. I've caught mine rattling there. Thought they were tight, but upon a second close inspection, found I could move the washers by pushing on them. If you can move them at all, that's where the rattle's comin' from. If that's not it ...

Re: Buzz n' Rattle
Another place to check, is that the nuts are tight on the tuning machines. Sometimes they'll be loose enough that it'll be the washers between the nut and the face of the headstock rattling. Don't make 'em TOO tight, you'll crack the paint. Just tight enough to stop the washers from rattling ...

Re: Love At First Sight...
Yes! It's a unique smell. Kinda the way Volkswagens have a smell different from other cars. After so many gigs, Rikki's lost that smell, but I do remember gettin' hit with that first whiff of it. I'd like to have an air freshener with that smell. Maybe cologne. Hot Fender Silverface is another ...

Love At First Sight...
Thought this'd be fun to post here. October 11th, 2011. The day Rikki came over. My first glimpse of her. My other guitars had no idea they were getting put outta business. Rikki's had a perfect attendance record. Been on every gig since I got her. Best. Guitar. Ever!

Re: Something Different - Bottle Rockets Ric Action
Thanks! "Radar Gun" was a Telecaster straight into a 50 watt Marshall. No pedals, no nuthin'. Well, a cable to connect the two...

Re: New Guy! New Guy!
Thanks everybody. Glad to be here. Yes, we still back Marshall Crenshaw on a regular basis. He plays solo a lot these days, but whenever he feels like havin' a rock band, we do it anytime our schedule allows. We just played around the midwest with him two weeks ago. We were playin' in Cincinnati the ...

Re: New Guy! New Guy!
What he told me a couple weeks ago, was he liked the easier action now that he's singing. That makes sense to me. I don't like to think about my guitar when I'm singing. There was NO WAY to not think about Peter's old Ric, it was continually trying to slice your fingertips off...

Re: New Guy! New Guy!
Here's another favorite photo of me an' Rikki. Me & this guitar are inseparable. Maybe I'm weird, but I'm not a guy who wants a bunch of Rics. I love the one I have. Only other Ric I could ever see myself with, is a round front 360-12. Maybe someday....

Re: New Guy! New Guy!
And...I've played Peter's old 360. He had it strung with .013s and it was like tryin' to play music on a crossbow. His new one played like butter. I was stunned he was playin' with action that easy. He's gone down to .011s...

Re: New Guy! New Guy!
The new Rics are just phenomenal. I LOVE the neck on mine. I wouldn't trade mine for ANY old Ric. My 360 is the greatest guitar I ever met, and I've met a LOTTA guitars. Mine was built the 49th week of 2010. Boy, they sure got it right that week. I'm still playing on the factory setup...

New Guy! New Guy!
Hey everybody, I just discovered this place today. My name's Brian Henneman, I'm in a band called the Bottle Rockets. We've been around 20 years now. I worked with a band called Uncle Tupelo before that. Met Peter Buck during the recording of Uncle Tupelo's "March 16-20" album, and we've remained ...
