Rick & Peter: Many thanks for making those most excellent rare Byrds photos available. Those were certainly the days, all right. McGuinn had just turned a ripe old 23* only a couple of weeks before those Louisville photos were taken.

Why own a £2,400 GBP John Lennon harmonica when one can own a Bob Dylan harmonica for only $14,950 USD??

I am told the 1983 Marks & Spencer Encyclopedia of Rock book is "basically a collection of articles taken from a series of magazines published in weekly parts." The Richard Thompson Rick photo is said to be © Ralph Denyer, a UK music journalist. Here is the book's caption which was cropped out of ...

Mark T.: Thanks for taking the time to describe your guitar's many functions. That's certainly the most extensive rewiring of a Rickenbacker that I have ever become aware of. Utilizing a pickguard as a virtual studio mixing console and/or pedalboard is a concept which few seem to have explored fully ...

Peter: Thanks for doing the research. Can't wait to hear what your findings are. Actually, upon closer examination of the photo, it appears that there may even be a 14th control at the very far right of the center row of switches (or small knobs?) between the upper and lower rows of mini-switches ...

Chris Hillman and Bob Dylan both played the May 1964 Monterey Folk Festival, which Jim Dickson also attended. After hearing Dylan perform "Mr. Tambourine Man", Dickson requested an acetate of the song (recorded June 9), which he subsequently presented to McGuinn, Gene Clark, David Crosby & Michael ...

********. McGuinn didn't get the 12-string idea from Harrison. McGuinn was playing a 12-string at least seven years before Harrison ever played that 360/12 -- and that, only because Rickenbacker, an American guitar company, offered the 360/12 to Lennon first, who passed on the guitar and recommended ...
