Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric

I would love to hear that someday. My two favorite instruments makers rolled into one. 8)

It really is an awesome combination!
My electronics in this bass have never been more trouble free.
The original owner had already routed through the back of the body, for battery access, for

Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric

It appears to have the crushed, full-width inlays, at latest Autumn-'72 tug bar, and 1/2-inch neck PU spacing, but I can't make out checkered binding on that one. It also looks a bit like Walnut, but it's probably an FG in ~sepia-toned lighting.

All Vintage Features, including Checker-Board ...

Re: First piece of "S"! 1988 Jet-Glo 4003s ! Very Nice.

Thanks to all, it is quite nice!

I actually found this 4003s at Guitar Center in Salem/Keizer Oregon!

Hey,
I was just at Bass North West, in Seattle.
They had Eight Ricks in the store! At least Six were used.
Very good prices!
Someone needs to hit that place!

First piece of "S"! 1988 Jet-Glo 4003s ! Very Nice.

Just baught my first 4000 Series "S" Rick Bass!

It's a 1988 Jet-Glo 4003s.
Sweeties Dot-Neck Bass I've ever owned!

The Neck is distinctly different from the standard 4001 or 4003 necks!

As far as the non-bound neck and body go, I've had about twenty years of enjoying the
beauty of my now ex-wife ...

Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric

This is the only time I've gotten to Jam on my '75 4080 Azure-Glo Double-Neck!
My friend Dean McMaster was blown away by my '75 4080, '72 Fire-Glo 4001 and my '06 Jet-Glo 4003!
But, I was totally floored by his Hell Fire Rock he played on his Chapman Stick!
Our great friend Jim Atchenson thundered ...

Re: '75 Ric 4001 - Burgundy?

My '75 (August).......

They must have had a guy who laid the red on thickly at the time.

I always noticed my Fireglow had deeper color than every other era.

Back in 2005-6 I had a very cool correspondence with a Seattle guitar builder who worked at Rickenbacker in the early 70's.
