I found a post from John Hall saying they used a couple of different saddle types. Perhaps these are the first kind

389L Piezo troubleshooting
Hey folks, I recently picked up a 380L with a piezo, after spending the last few years regretting selling my standard 380L. The guitar is beautiful and plays well but I have a couple of questions. 1. The guy I bought it from said it was not a factory 380L PZ, but that the piezo system was added afte...

Re: MESA and RICKS
I'm a fan of Ricks through Mesa, and play my 4004 and 4003 through a Buster 15 combo. I've tried the Subway with my 4004 and it also sounded fantastic--I'd buy one if I needed something lightweight.

Re: 2nd Edition! Help!
You really ought to add a picture of Cliff Burton of Metallica playing his 4001. Cliff still looms very large in metal, despite dying three decades ago.

Of those I've played, I favor the 380L and the 4004Ci.

Re: Selling a vintage Rick bass -experiences?
FWIW - I recently bought a guitar on ebay from a first-time seller, and they are sitting on my money for 28 days, even after I left positive feedback (a friend picked the guitar up for me locally), all because he's a first-time seller. Yeah, it's annoying to honest sellers, but it's necessary. I re...

Re: Selling a vintage Rick bass -experiences?
I've done a fair bit of buying and selling on eBay, including several amps and guitars, and I would be reluctant to sell an expensive vintage instrument there. I haven't had any disasters, but I've had a few difficult customers, and I'd prefer to avoid that sort of risk on a rare and expensive item....

Re: Sitting and playing a 650
I've not had any comfort problems with mine, either sitting or standing. When you play while sitting are you leaning over the guitar in a way that puts extra weight on it? Mine is so light I don't think it would be uncomfortable even at an angle where it was poking a bit. A strap could certainly hel...

Congrats on getting the 650...if you provide pics. Otherwise, it hasn't happened.

The original 4004C had a very different profile from the current models also.

Re: Walnut 4003
Does anyone have pictures of a 4003W with a chrome/mirror pickguard? I love the walnut, but don't really like the big slab of white plastic over much of it. someone posted this on here a while ago. it looks awesome with mirror. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGlcfIL8Q08 Wow. Great looking bass pla...
