I had the most horrible "toinks" and buzzing from the roller bridges on both my 1996 and C64. I use much lighter strings on mine, and I'm sure these added to the prob, but another source seems to be the shallow angle of the strings over the bridge from the vibrato, and the strings didn't
seem to be ...

Out of curiosity, how quick does the lift happen? As I've mentioned in another thread, put DD Chromes on my C64 about six/seven weeks ago. It has a small but noticeable gap, which appeared right away, but does not seem to be getting any worse. Just seeing these pictures gets me wondering if it will ...

So may great solos already mentioned, and many more to go...

No matter what you think of the song, Amos Garrett's solo on Maria Muldaur's "Midnight at the Oasis" is one of the most melodic I've ever heard (for some reason I always thought it was Ry Cooder).

Paul M - You sure suffered your share of oafs around the guitar stand!

Not the worst of horror stories...
My first "real" guitar was a used early 70's LP Deluxe Goldtop. Finish was so ripped up, looked like someone had played it with a nail. Against all advice, I refinished it myself... twice ...

I tried the reissue at a dealer, and, like Alisha, didn't think it worth the price. For that much you can get a Martin, Taylor or Gibson.

Matt Mays & El Torpedo

Saw Matt Mays & El Torpedo on Comcast's Backstage show. From Nova Scotia, seemed a good, hard-working band. The singer played an FG 360/12, which looked great in the studio lighting. Apparently where on Conan O'Brien in mid December as well (tho I missed that one). If you're interested>>>

Thanks Richard, hadn't heard Beatles' version before. Always loved that song. Marshall Crenshaw did a decent cover on his first album.
