Re: 4004 ABM Bridge
Hi,
I read that some of you have replaced ABM bridges on their 4004s.

1. I have no idea on what a reasonable price would be
2. I am located in Sweden ...

Aaahh, I did not see this...I would have picked one up for $3k! But, as far as I can see, they are back to normal ($5k/"bonkers") now.

Re: 4003s or 4004 and why.
Different is not better. Why choose a 4004 over a 4003S?
Ah, sorry - I omitted part of the explanation. I already have a 4001s, therefore I suspect the 4003s to be too close to that one soundwise. A 4004 would - presumably - have something new to add to my "bass sound bank".
At least that was ...

4004, because it offers a different - look and sound - aestethics perspective to the Rickenbacker bass

Re: Neck adjustment, back bow, RM1999
Ive had three RMs and also done this adjustment to my CS. Just loosen the nuts off slightly and evenly..no need to unscrew them very much. Hold the bass body between your knees or use your foot to hold it against a sofa again between your knees. Ive done this with the strings on but slackened off ...

Re: Neck adjustment, back bow, RM1999
Use the classic rod technique by manually putting the neck where it needs to be, then tighten to hold in place.
It requires clamping the bass down, then also clamping the headstock with full string tension. You might have to try it a couple times.

Neck adjustment, back bow, RM1999
A question for those of you (probably all of you) who know this better than me:
If I check
neck.jpg
with
straightedge.jpg
and notice a significant back bow, most pronounced on the D/G side, would then this
trussrods.jpg
be a good strategy to get the neck straight again? As you can see ...
