Back to the old bridge

This morning I started to get my 4003 back to what it should be: hipshot bridge gone, and the original bridge on!!! To my ears it sounds again as it should be. Are there more who converted back to original?

I wish everybody a nice day!!!

Re: kay rick-a-like

I have only one Rick; a FG 4003 from 2003, and then some other basses and guitars. I would not touch a copy of a Rick!

Re: I never thought this day would come!

I love my 4003FG dearly, but my number one bass has a Squier body (p-Bass), a custom build neck (birdseye maple neck and fretboard) in J style, P/J pups from Bartolini, passive circuitry and I painted it myself. This bass sounds and plays so fine.....

Re: Elixir vs Rotosound tension and feel?

I heard that story too, but I gave them I try and really liked them. They are not cheap, at least not in the Netherlands but hey tone is tone and one needs a good one......

Re: HH Electronics VS series Amps, experiences??

I played a head and cabinet a while back while I visited my friend in Devon UK - who owns one. I was not impressed by the sound. No definition and very wooly sounding. Since the late 80's I used Trace Elliot gear and nowadays an Eden WT300 with a Mesa Powerhouse 2 x 10" so yes I'm spoiled - but if I ...

Re: Elixir vs Rotosound tension and feel?

I use Elixers on all my basses and guitars and I like the sound better for bass then Roto's. Beside that Roto's sound dead to me after a month of use and the Elixers last for more then a year. They feel better for my fingers to.

Did John Fogerty play a Ric?

Did John Fogerty play a Ric? I saw some stuff on youtube, and it seemed to me he was playing a Rick 330 or 360. Well what do I know, I'm a bassplayer owning just one 4003.....

Re: Dead spots on v63

I have a Status Graphite, and it hasn't got a truss rod at all. They set the curve in the mould for the neck and thats it. It wont twist or bend. Later series have trussrods because the customers wanted it. I think my status is 10 years old but plays as a brand new instrument. Of course does it ...

Greg, how does the SD sound compared to an original Ric PU? Always wondered how they sound.
